Adam Sedlock is a humble man, with high moral values and a hard-work ethic that he attributes to his Pennsylvania upbringing.
Adam grew up on his grandfather's farm just outside of Perryopolis, PA where he developed a strong work ethic and deep traditions of faith and family. These values are evident in his family today. He and his wife, Kathy have been happily married for forty years. Together they raised three wonderful children who have blessed them with three fantastic grandchildren.
Adam’s grandparents were European immigrants. They ventured to this great country with hopes of escaping the persecution and wars of their times. They believed that this is a country of freedom, equality, opportunity, and prosperity. His father was of the "greatest generation" and fought in WWII. He taught Adam to work hard to achieve his goals in life.
This hard work ethic inspired Adam to do just that. Adam graduated from Frazier High School in 1971 and went on to California University of Pennsylvania where he received his Master of Science in Psychology in 1980. Adam graduated first in his class and had the honor of representing the graduate students at the First Honors Convocation. From there he received his Certification as a School Psychologist in 1981 and then his License to Practice Psychology in 1990.
Adam has always had a passion to help others navigate the complexities of life. With the help of his wife, Adam created a small, family oriented business and opened a Behavioral Health Clinic in Uniontown, PA which grew to 25 employees. Since then he has become an appointed member of the medical staff at Highlands Hospital, Uniontown Hospital, and UPMC. Adam has also worked within the judicial system providing expert testimony for both Prosecutors and Defenders, serving as a Licensed Psychologist Manger within the Department of Corrections, and as the Director of Behavioral Health for Corizon Corporation. He has also enjoyed teaching Psychology and Psychiatry as an adjunct instructor at Fairmont State University, Seton Hill University, and Penn State University.
Locally, Adam has served on the boards of many community organizations. He was the president of the local Kiwanis Club and is currently a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and American Psychological Association where he has served on the Board of Directors and participated in many committees including the Rural Health Cord and the Legislative and Governmental Affairs committee. Through organizations like these and the National Health Service Corps, he has presented lectures on the topic of the Psychology of Politics throughout the U.S.
Adam strives to represent all persons regardless of political affiliations, race, gender, etc. with fairness and dedication. He is not a "career" politician. He is a member of the community whose professional and life experiences, combined with a relentless work ethic, make him an excellent Congressional Candidate for the 14th District of Pennsylvania.
Adam is the owner and CEO of ACS Psychological Associates, a small outpatient mental health clinic with locations in Uniontown and Pittsburgh. Over the past 26 years he, his staff of therapists, and the support team have helped thousands of residents of the Tri-State area fulfilling the need for excellent behavioral health care.
Adam has always been an advocate for Mental Health Care! For years he has lobbied at the state level with the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and nationally with the American Psychological Association.
